Smartphone apps that can help with co-parenting

It is amazing how far smartphones have come since the introduction of the first IPhone in 2007. The catch phrase “there’s an app for that” has essentially taken over the world when it comes to making things easier. While people can keep track of their spending, monitor their diets and access the Internet through their phones, divorced and separated parents can also make co-parenting easier with smartphone applications.

This post will highlight a few for you.

2Houses – For those who have experience with, this app is similar in that you can access and edit joint calendars, share information and include events so that both parents can know where the child is supposed to be.

InBetween – Much like MapQuest and Google Maps, this app can help you find a midpoint for exchanges. This can help parents who live far away from each other. Once a halfway point is established, the arguments about why a parent should travel a certain distance may end.

Lemon – If you are impressed with apps that can scan an item to find out if it is on sale, Lemon allows you to scan items so that their prices can be uploaded and stored to your account. This way you can track of expenses for children. The app can also be used to exchange information about your purchases so that you can be reimbursed for certain expenses.

DivorceCoping – When custody battles erupt and things go bad, it is helpful to have some laughs to help smooth things over. This app can give some daily humor to help through tough times.
